Helicorp Renews Aviation Free Trade Zone Status (October 2, 2008)

 Helicorp has recently renewed it's aviation free trade zone status with PROCOMER, the government entity that administers and promotes foreign investment in Costa Rica.  The zone and program, known in Spanish as a "Perfecsionamiento Activo", is designed to attract foreign investment in the aviation maintenance trade and allows that any goods or services imported into Helicorp's free trade zone so do so free of import and export taxes.  Helicorp has successfully used this program to attract several large scale aviation projects including the rebuild of three Japanes helicopters in 2008 that were recently sold to the Government of Guyana and a the owner of a large communications company, based in Toronto, Canada.
 
 
Active Image Helicorp ha renovado recientemente su estatus de zona libre de aviacion con PROCOMER, la entidad gubernamental que administra y promueve la inversion extranjera en Costa Rica.  El programa de zonas, conocido como "Perfeccionamiento Activo", esta diseñado para atraer inversion extranjera en el comercio de mantenimiento de aviacion y permite que cualesquiera bienes o servicios que se importen en la zona libre de comercio de Helicorp se hagan libre de impuestos de exportacion o importacion..  Helicorp ha utilizado este programa exitosamente para atraer varios proyectos de aviacion de gran escala incluyendo la reconstruccion de tres helicopteros japoneses en el 2008 que fueron vendidos recientemente al Gobierno de Guyana y al dueño de una empresa grande de comunicacion, basada en Toronto, Canada.

The Federal Aviation Act of 1958 created the agency under the name Federal Aviation Agency. They adopted their present name in 1967 when they became a part of the Department of Transportation. Their major roles include:
* Regulating civil aviation to promote safety
* Encouraging and developing civil aeronautics, including new aviation technology
* Developing and operating a system of air traffic control and navigation for both civil and military aircraft
*  Researching and developing the National Airspace System and civil aeronautics
* Developing and carrying out programs to control aircraft noise and other environmental effects of civil aviation
* Regulating U.S. commercial space transportation
